According to historical records, this traditional dance from Bali is thought to have existed since the mid-16th century AD. The number of dancers who perform this entertainment is also smaller, only requiring 1 or 2 dancers. The dance performance before leaving for the battlefield is not without intent and purpose. This dance performance is believed by the Balinese people to be a way to welcome the arrival of the gods and ancestors.
Traditional Balinese Line Dance Has Its Own Uniqueness
In this traditional dance performance, the dancers will be provided with various knick-knacks. The triangular crown with a vertical shell decoration at the top is its main characteristic. Furthermore, the dancers wear loose, colorful costumes and are seen hanging on the floor.
The movement of the shoulders at ear level is a characteristic of this Balinese dance. Apart from that, the position of the dancer’s hands is always horizontal and the movements look very firm.
